The Whole You School of Massage
& Bodywork has
been educating and facilitating students in massage and bodywork since
1990. We provide a hands-on learning environment
instilling a high standard of professional competence.
We approach the teaching of the
therapeutic process of massage and touch therapy
with respect for the
innate intelligence and self-healing capabilities of each individual.
Our goal is to assist the student in
developing their skills in their particular area of interest and to apply these techniques in forming their personalized
method of touch therapy.
From beginning to end, course offerings are expansive and integrate the latest scientific aspects of massage with the ancient methods of Eastern and Western cultures. Each class session consists of lecture, demonstration, discussion, and experiential learning
The
structured educational program consists of three units totaling 525
hours of study over 19 weekend sessions. Roughly, the student is in
class one weekend a month if completing the program in 18 months. Most classes in
Unit III are designed to be taken at any time before, during or after
Unit I and Unit II. Deciding to use this "fast-track", a student can graduate in 11 months.
Areas
of study include: Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Swedish Massage,
Reflexology, Polarity, Shiatsu, Reiki, Sports
Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Hydrotherapy, Joint Manipulation, Touch for Health, CranioSacral, Neuromuscular, Medical Massage, ViseralSomatic, Structural Rebalancing, Reflexology, Body
Psychology, Business Management and Marketing, Clinicals and Professional Ethics. All massage and bodywork modalities listed will have hands-on exchange.
Friday classes meet
from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM; Saturday classes meet from 9:00 AM to 7:00
PM; Sunday classes meet from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
The
Whole You School of Massage & Bodywork is a NC Board approved school.
Upon completion
and proof of standard competency through examination, professional
certification will be granted. This certification will qualify the student as a candidate to sit for the exam
associated with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic
Massage and Bodywork.

Prospective
candidates for admission are encouraged to visit our school facility
and discuss educational goals with school personnel. Admission is
granted through a selection process. Unit I classes begin in February and August of
each year. Applicants must be 18 years old age or
older and hold a high school diploma or equivalent. We do not
discriminate on the basis of race, sex, marital status, religion, or
ethnic/national origin.
Tuition:
Unit I: *$1,800, includes $300 deposit
applied to tuition.

Tuition
can be paid in full or in monthly installments. Scholarships are
not currently available through the school. However, our school is approved for Sallie Mae Career Training Loans that offer low interest loans. Additional costs include
required books, massage tables, and related supplies. All purchases
can be made through the school and discounts are available.
